The vineyard started out growing table grapes. It passed through a few hands over the years — always a working patch of land with potential.
Angelo Barbagallo owned the place for over 50 years. He was the first to plant wine grapes here — we still thank him for his original vision.
The vineyard became Bungawarra Wines. The focus shifted fully to wine grapes, and a new chapter began.
Jeff Harden took over in 1993 and started bringing the vineyard back to life, despite tough drought conditions. The cellar door reopened, more wines were made from our own fruit, and we started winning medals too!
One magical summer night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream was performed here among the vines. It became a yearly tradition — 15 Shakespeare plays under the stars, right here at Bungawarra.
We’re still here, making small-batch premium wines with love, care, and a whole lot of heart. The dream lives on.
Lily keeps a close eye on everything — especially the snack breaks. 🐾
